Description of Work:
Rehabilitation of various portions of the commuter line to accommodate new N-5 train sets. In order to lessen impact to SEPTA's ridership, all work was performed during weeknight and weekend single track outages. Work included the following activities:

• Flash Butt Welding 39,000 LF of 115# RE rail
• Changeout of 85# & 90# jointed rail with 115# RE continuously welded rail
• Replacement of 6150 Standard and Contact rail ties
• Remove and replace 13 each turnouts including all signal and contact rail installation
• Surface, Line and regulate 25,000 feet of track
• Replace 23,000 LF of 150# contact rail.
